EEC Ukraine consular interview questions Blog Banner
Ukraine student visa interview or consular interview is a crucial part of your student visa process for your study in Ukraine. You will have to convince the consular officer that your intention for traveling to Ukraine is indeed studying, as mentioned in your visa application and supported by the relevant documents, and that you will leave Ukraine to your country of residence once your study program is complete.
The consular officer uses the interview as an opportunity to tally the contents of your application with your answers and check your medical, financial, and criminal records before deciding on your eligibility. You should have full clarity about the documents you have submitted, the course, and the university you have chosen to pursue your study in Ukraine.
You must bring the original and certified copies of the following list of documents to your interview:
  • Appointment letter – The Visa interview letter you have received from the Ukraine consulate.
  • International Passport – Expiry date must be at least 12 months after the end of visa validity and with at least 3 blank pages.
  • Photographs – Two recent color photographs against the white background without uniform, hat, or any head coverings, size 30x40mm.
  • Invitation to Study – The letter of invitation from your chosen institute in Ukraine inviting you to join the study program
  • Supporting documents – Original or certified copies of all documents you uploaded for the Visa application.
Only after the consular officer interviews and approves your candidature, you’ll receive your student visa to enter Ukraine to join the scheduled course.

To obtain a long-stay visa (type D), a prospective student shall submit a series of documents to the consulate or embassy of Ukraine in their respective country as indicated on the embassy’s website. Regardless of where you submit your documents, you will always be asked to include the original letter of invitation “Invitation to study”. The documents from your previous education must be officially certified before submission to the consulate. This can be done in one of two ways: legalized by the Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Embassy of Ukraine in your country or certified by Apostille stamp and legalized at the Embassy of Ukraine in your country. These documents must be officially recognized in Ukraine for a Ukrainian university to be able to issue your diploma certificate upon graduation.
